Premium Entry Level Canon DSLR Camera for Beginner Photographers

| June 23, 2011

After a long delay, I finally managed to make a posting about the DSLR cameras. I created this post as objectively as possible, but the factor of subjectivity and my experience in choosing a DSLR camera may be slightly visible. I will review entry level DSLR Camera and now i will review Canon DSLR Camera first and will follow by others manufacturers.

DSLR camera is more dedicated to advanced photographers. Therefore, a lot of settings that need to be done to produce a quality photograph. This is very different when you use a point and shoot cameras, which have auto function.
In addition to the DSLR camera, you can produce better image quality, this is because the DSLR cameras have larger sensors than point and shoot camera. So the image of the DSLR camera with 8 megapixel resolution level will be much better when compared with point and shoot camera with a resolution of 10 megapixels.

Here I will only discuss about the DSLR camera with a price range under $ 3,000 only, and not to the price above it, because I am just able to get a camera with this price range right now. If you want to get a camera for professionals, I guess I have to pass it right now. But, someday if I get one of them, I will make a post about them.

First review is my fave camera, it’s Canon DSLR Camera EOS Rebel T3i or EOS 600D, and will follow by others cameras.

1. Canon EOS Rebel T3i / EOS 600D.

This one is my first step to jump in to photography.  I love this canon DSLR camera, it can generate great pictures. This Canon DSLR camera is very easy to use by beginners, so it deserves to become the first choice. The prices are range from US $849 – $899. Here are the specifications of Canon EOS Rebel T3i:

  • It has 18-megapixel resolutions and a DIGIC 4 images processor which can record images up to 5,184 x 3,456 pixels.
  • This camera also has a screen LCD monitor Vari-angle type 3-inch Clear View size that can be rotated to virtually any direction without hampered, even while using a battery grip or tripod.
  • It has continuous shooting up to 3.7 frames per second and start-up time is quick
  • Canon EOS 600D also has video recording feature with full HD quality (1920×1080),  the digital zoom up to 10x, so it can record a shot from a distance.
  • Canon EOS 600D also has Video Snapshot  feature to record a series of short videos each of which lasted 2, 4, or 8 seconds and can be joined later.
  • You can take photos in low light condition without flash by set up the camera ISO to 12800.
  • It has a built-in wireless flash transmitter, so you can expand creative space with various lights flash from a variety of positions.
  • It supply with Canon LP-E8 battery.

Conclusion:

T3i Canon EOS Rebel / EOS 600D is an entry-level Canon DSLR camera that produce excellent still images and video.
With a zoom lens 18-55mm IS standard you can produce excellent imaging quality, so if you do not require a relatively long zoom, you don’t need to upgrade to18-135 mm IS lens.

With 18 MP resolution rates, you can create an image of sky blue mountains or colorful leafs and trees with crystal clear quality. Every detail colors can be displayed well; even with the right settings you will be amazed with the results of your own photos.

You can make this Canon DSLR camera as your first choice, if you want to learn advanced photography. With the affordable price you can produce images and videos easily and beautifully.

  1. Too bad there’s no mention of Nikon here. If you consider both Canon and Nikon, there are so many options at so many different price ranges. Between the two manufacturers, there aren’t very many cameras that line up as exactly comparable. This means that there are lots of options and lots of different prices. If you don’t find something you like with one company, likely there is a slightly more expensive or less expensive camera that the other manufacturer sells. I’ve lately been taking so many pictures that I’m starting to rack up quite a big bill with Shutterfly! Maybe I should buy some stock in the company ;)

  12. I think that a DSLR is more than most amateur photographers need. Most people simply dont use even close to the options available. Saying that if you are truly willing to spend the time to learn and understand a DSLR can be great. Photographer Milton Keynes
