How to Reduce Addicted Games

hot-games-2011Playing computer games is an exciting activity. We sometimes forget time, forget to eat and also loss of social life due to playing computer games.
There are so many addicted games in the internet. Some of addicted games are strategy games, MMORPG or gambling games (e.g. poker, blackjack). Even old games like flash games can also make people addicted.
Like my own experience,  i got addicted to old computer games like Championship Manager, Heroes of Might and magic and also Ragnarok online.

I have some tips that can be tried if you have some problem with addicted games.

Make a Decision
The first step is to decide to stop playing addicted games altogether or reduce it drastically.
If you’ve come to the conclusion that playing the games ruin your life, college or hinder your career, really aware that there is no way other than to motivate yourself. Stop playing addicted games or reduce it untill you are sure that your real life is not interrupted even if you play games.

Self-discipline
People who are addicted to gaming, although consciously want to quit but they want to try and try again. This can only be overcome by rigorous self-discipline. You must be hard on yourself. It’s hard to stop from a very pleasant, but it would be painful if it interferes with your life without realizing it. Think that your future can be damaged and the time already lost cannot come back again.

Learning New Things
To replace the activity of playing addicted games, learn some new things in the real world. For example, you can learn about gardening or outdoor activities like fishing or photography. This new activity can make you less likely to forget the activity of playing addicted games.

Get Social Relations
How many friends do you forget because of playing games? Do not wait any longer, call your friends and interact with each other. If necessary, find new friends in a variety of events. You should realize that your friends in the real world offers greater pleasure than the characters in the game play.

Stay away from addicted games
If you have an addiction, it would be very difficult to break away from the desire to play an addicted games. There is no guarantee that even if you’ve managed to reduce or stop playing games, you can do so. Remove games from your computer or if necessary, sell your gaming console. Without the games around you, the opportunity to break away altogether from growing addicted to the games.

Do not Influenced
If your close friends including gaming addicts, do not be swayed by them. Keep your motivation to reduce the activity of playing addicted games. If necessary, advise also your friends if they’ve been playing games activity in a stage that could interfere with life.

These are my tips to reduce your addiction from addicted games. I hope they can help you solve your problem with addicted games.

  6. I can swear by this article. My teenage nephew is totally addicted to video games. He saves up his monthly allowance and gets loads of them and whiles away all this free time in front of the TV. And since both his parents are working, there is no one to monitor him constantly. I fear if he can ever get off this addiction.
I guess the internet age is taking toll. Its about time we encouraged outdoor games and activities like in good ol’ days!

  7. Having non-gamer friends can also help.

  8. Learning new things is my favorite tip! Keeping your mind on other things not only gets you away from addictive games but it also develops your character.

im addicted to dota and some high graphic game. tried so many way to keep my focus and not playing games but i failed. last resort action, i sold my gaming rig and buy a laptop. this way, even if i want to play games, i cant because my laptop cant support it. the best way ever to prevent me wasting my time from playing games

  10. I once addicted on games especially the online, I always think that I’m in a competition with the whole server. At that time I prefer to level my char than to go to school (resulting to failing grades), I always eat lunch dinner in front of the computer just not to miss a second of playing. The good thing is I manage to control it through self-discipline. I’m still playing (World of Warcraft) but I’m controlling it more. Nice article Andy!

  11. Better share or spread this entry to those who are so into games on Facebook. It’s not just online social networking games. It applies to all video games. People are too addicted to them.

  18. Computer games can be very addicting. I remember during my college days, I was addicted to Level Up games. I don’t eat my breakfast and dinner just to save money to play games. I just can’t sleep without having to hold the mouse and the keyboard. I feel like I was going to die. LOL.

  19. This is extremely revealing website in relation to Seem, regards such a lot for the purpose of discussing your thinking, i was in need of these sort of review for some days and nights.

Yes, some games can be really addictive! I once got addicted to this particular game whereby I played continuously for 24 hours and continue playing after another 4 hours of rest! I would go bonkers once I’m unable to play the game for just minutes!

  29. it is really serious topic to think about but from my view it is not so hard to completely stop playing the computer games if someone desperately decide to quit playing the addicted games even friends and family play a major role in helping him or her to stop completely playing the computer game
