How to Make Your USB Flash Drive as An USB Installer
Why do you buy a USB flash Drive, It uses to save your data only or you use it for USB installer? Today you can take advantage of your USB flash Drive to install Operating System (OS) or An USB installer. You can use it to install windows, GNU/Linux and other applications (media recovery, virus scanners, troubleshooter and etc).
To install the Operating System typically use a CD / DVD. What about netbooks that don’t have internal optical drive? You can use the optical drive external to do it, but now you can also use USB flash Drive as an USB installer. It’s cheaper, also more compact than the external optical drive.
For Linux, you can get the ISO file for free on the internet, while for Windows (XP or Windows 7) you can buy an ISO file in Microsoft site. Additionally you can use it to the installer application and also media recovery. Basically they are a collection of tools that are packaged in a form of ISO. Furthermore, the ISO file is “burn” into the USB flash Drive and will create a media recovery or a CD rescue like Hiren’s Boot CD or Ultimate Boot CD that can use as a troubleshooter when your PC, Notebook or Netbook have some problem. You can also use it as a portable virus scanner. Today, Antivirus software is already provides a CD rescue also which contains a virus scanner.
