5 Silly things that you must avoid when comment on blog
Comment on blog is believed can increase traffic to our blog. Comment on blog can also be used to build backlinks, (If you give comment to blog that is comment luv and dofollow). When you use right strategy and approach, comment on blog can also increase your authority. It can build a network among bloggers too.
So then we must make as many comments on other blogs? Yes, you you should make a lot of comment that have a quality. You can’t do SPAM comment. It will hurt you. Also there is no benefit at all. Anti SPAM plugin like Akismet, conditional captcha or SI captcha, will filter the SPAM comments, and they will be directly erased.
The things that you must avoid when using a strategy of comment on blog are:
1. Comment on blog without read the post. You should read carefully the post first before making a comment. This post was the work of the author, which of course made with the best. You have to appreciate it. Commenting in a rush like this can make an irrelevant comment. You will look stupid by other readers.
Remember: when you have irrelevant comment, it’s not easy to remove. You must request a permission to the blog owner to delete it. (If they permit it)
2. Do not use the redundant link. In my policy a comment column allows only one link. If there is a link that more than one, then this comments will be edited. Other blog owners perhaps have different policy. However, excessive use of links can also be considered SPAM, especially if the link is no relationship at all with the content of the posts.
3. Make comments that attack to the writer personality.
When reading an article post, you may not agree with the contents. You can convey your opinion in a good way and not blindly by attacking the writer personality. You’ll get a minus value in the eyes of other bloggers when doing this. There is most likely, you will directly “banned” in the bloggers community.
Remember: Give a mannered comment and make good critiques will make you get a respect from other visitors.
4. Using the anonymous identity or even not clear identity at all. Use an easily recognizable identity, such as your name. It will be easier to build friendships. The identity of John Doe is still better when compared with Ferrari cars such as. It’s not very good to me, if I replay comments that have identity as above. It felt very strange. Remember: Use the man’s name, although that’s not your real name and keywords identity just use for comments that are keywords luv.
5. Make comments that don’t have value-added to the article.
The most important strategy about Comment on blog is to establish our authority in the eyes of blog post readers. When you make a quality comment on blog and have value-added, then your name will be remembered by the reader as someone who is an expert. In this way your credibility will also be lifted. I myself better not to give a comment on a post, if my comment has no value-added or there is no connection whatsoever to the topic post.
Remember: Authority and credibility can’t be built overnight. Use this strategy with appropriate and sustainable.
That’s 5 things you must avoid, if you want to succeed in harnessing comment on blog strategy. It is a non-binding for you. You may follow or not follow those. Everything is up to you, but if you want to become a successful blogger at least you should follow my advices above in comment on blog strategies.

Like like like the fact that every post of yours is a lesson for me… I really need your information and even if I’m still looking to build backlinks, I will keep reading your articles first of all. I was supposing that commenting on blogs should be relevant and you have chosen 5 of the most important definitions of the ‘relevant’ word.
there’s a lot new blogger use weird name when comment. maybe they lack of confident since their blog is still new. usually i found that when a blogger ask something, they also use different name than usual. issue with credibility? haha
You have really good points. I dislike reading comments that are very generic. Shows that they didn’t bother reading the post at all.
Hey! I simply want to give a huge thumbs up for the good data you’ve right here on this post. I will be coming again to your blog for more soon.
Yeah yeah, read the post before you comment. What about trackbacks though? Those are massively important
Read first before you comment. Your comment must be related to the topic of the site your commenting in, must be relevant. Great tips when commenting a blog.. Thanks.
I totally agree – it’s better not to comment at all than do s–m comment
I wonder why people even bother to add some crazy machine generated comment? i think in 99.999% those comments fail moderation :/
I fully appreciate this post knowing that this tips are really helpful. I guess it is really important to be honest with your comments but in a respectable manner. And that would be a no brainer to use redundant links..
This blog gives useful tips to take care of while commenting on blog.
,the comments should be natural for a moderators approval and also the dofollow and nofollow tags should be taken care of.
To avoid being accused of comment spam, only include links within your comments if they provide added value to the conversation. Links should be relevant and useful, and they should not be included in excess. Even links in a comment signature can be considered blog comment spamming.
Your article made me cheer and opinions to see so accurate!
Pretty cool list of common sense tips that too many people don’t follow. It was good to hear it from a pro and I am glad I have not been a rule breaker so far.
Hey dude. Its a Great stuff. Its contain many useful facts. Thanks for posting.
Just comment on topics where you can share your expert insights so you can be sure that you’re being helpful to other readers
When commenting, as much as possible, make it relevant to the post and do not submit your comment multiple times. Also, it helps if you make your comment conversational and not just a copies statement from other sites.
These information helps me consider some useful things, keep up the good work.
lool Now you are making me self conscious…all I wanted to comment to your post was ‘very true, I agree 100%’.
Although it would have been a genuine comment it sounds like from your post that it would have been taken as spam. It is a bit of a catch 22.
I do want to promote my website, but I also very much enjoy reading and posting comments. Sometimes when everything has been said on the blog post and I don’t feel like I have anything to add I just want to congratulate or thank the author for such a good post!
Is there anything wrong with plain encouragement?
It’s always weird how bloggers have to choose between dofollow and nofollow, each of which have their own downside. There’s no “correct” answer, though it seems dofollow has many more…followers, as it were.
Great tips. The bottom line is know your audience and think before you post!
Posting comments has now been a source of living for some in this days (including me), and it is very important to include substance on every remarks that a person is gonna make (not just because we don’t want to be tagged as a spammer, but because we wanted to share our thoughts to everyone). This particular write-up enables me to understand the advantage of knowing your craft (which is, in my case, blogging / commenting) and how you could improve on it.
Right dude. We all know that there are people who paid for this (like you did), but we have to know the ethics too. I often see that they just do comment spam and of course it will be bad for the blogosphere.
Cool tips! I think the most important thing when commenting is reading. How can you make sensible comments without reading the post from top to bottom?
Yes, Read it and make a comment, period
For me good comment can build internal and external relationship..
I think the most important is to give comments that have meaning and I agree using false identity doesn’t make any sense. A good gravatar can bring many visitors.
Well, Honestly speaking I have read many blog commenting techniques blog but never got exact explanation to it.This is the first post which I really understood and read it fully and agreed to every point you mentioned on your blog that how we can make our comment genuine and best.I liked it. Thanks
you are welcome. glad to help you
I wonder how you got so good. This is really a fascinating blog, lots of stuff that I can get into. One thing I just want to say is that your Blog is so perfect!
Number 6) when commenting is don’t repeat what others have already said several times. (I hope no one has said that above. If so then this was sarcasm)
You got the point. Though it is very hard to give a comment without repeating.
Thanks for reminding us about the dont’s and other useful tips to get our comments approved. Well I usually butt in the conversation and say something personal about the topic and that’s it
I quite agree that the things you mentioned should be avoided when commenting on blogs. Our main goal should be to communicate with the blogger or with the other readers that is why we are commenting. Let us give respect to the blogger so that he or she will reciprocate it.
~Tiff
I also just wanted to let you know that your blog looks great!!! It is very appealing & easy to read.
Great post! Keep up the good work, I didn’t know anything about this comment thing that you mention above and will be watching for it on my blog from now on. I have also subscribed to your blog now and will continue reading from now.
It’s great when you find blogs like this that actually explain things in an easy way that I can understand. I will watch my own blog now for these link people you talk of and hopefully will keep them away!
Great advice for those of us who are working on those full time. As we go around to different blogs and try to comment, it takes time to actually go and make a comment that is useful rather than one that just gives a link that may or may not work. It is so much more worth it to actually go through the process and then you wont be afraid you completely messed up your website in someone else’s mind.
Andy C, why haven’t removed all the comments of people doing exactly what you said not to do in your article. I would like to think that some of them are trying to be ironic with their posts, but I’m guessing they aren’t!
I will not remove some of those comments in my older posts. I will try to apply it in my newer posts.
well i personally ended up at your blog for backlinking my blog, but as it was about commenting on the blog, i’ve read it and certainly agree that posting an irrelevant comment is just a waste of time at both ends. i myself have to delete many spam comments daily from my blog.
very nice post
Ha ha ha. Honestly, i don’t want to freak out my blog commentators. I just try to write about what is in my head about how we should do on blog commenting ethics. Feel free to make a backlinks in my blog. It’s still comment Luv and dofollow blog. Have blogging.
I have found this blog very informative therefore i am going to share it with my friends as well on Facebook.
@Tampa seo
I am glad to hear that. Thanks a lot.
You mean “nice post” doesn’t add value?
I couldn’t agree with you more on these. Too many people think that these worthless comments are going to get approved so they keep flooding the web with them.
I am hoping that someone like aksimet or another company comes up with a WordPress plugin that automatically blocks autocommenters from being able to spam our sites.
@Jeff
No, it’s not Jeff. It doesn’t add value at all. It just an appreciation about the post. What i mean about value added is not like that. People can write anything they like about the post. if they think something is missing from the post, they can add it in their comment. And if they disagree, they can also say it. It’s like you did here. Personally, I prefer comments like that rather than just write nice post.
I was just being sarcastic about the nice post comment. I get them all the time and I wind up sending them directly to the trash because what it says to me is that they didn’t read the post at all. If you like it tell me what makes it a nice post. If you don’t all the better because that engages the conversation much more.
@Jeff
I agree with you Jeff.
I like your post. Its very helpful for us to keep avoid for those stages which you tell here. Its very useful for us.
I’m a newbie, your articles very usefull for me to leave comment carefully. thanks for info
This post should already be a lesson to those who do spam comments, including to the ones who comment here on this post. Some people just don’t learn. Or they are just totally blind and deaf to realize.
I’ve just experienced working from a client in Odesk, and this guy really shocked me to let me do 17 links per hour through commenting on other blogs. That’s why I quit.
The tendency, no, the probability of this kind of SEO is definitely a spam. They only have one purpose, and that is to put backlinks and backlinks and nothing but hundreds and thousands of backlinks. They don’t read the whole content or never understand the gist of the article. It is very obvious on how they write the comments. They seem to be like typing a last message from a chat room while the airport terminal crew are calling the passengers to board the plane.
These people should have used an SEO software or spam bots if their goal is to just build backlinks. It doesn’t make any difference at all from what they write on all hundreds or thousands of blogs on the Net.
I also sometimes feel confused about the comment spammers. What exactly do they want to write a comment that has no meaning at all. Logically, if they do not understand that their comments would not be meaningless and of no use at all. Because so their comments in, it will be directly detected as spam. It’s just wasting of time and energy. If they want a backlink, why do not they just ask politely, certainly if they have a website or blog that has same relevance, it would have accepted gladly. Yes, ethics in commenting should be developed and disseminated to the bloggers on the internet.
We share the same thoughts about this Andy. Thanks for dropping by my blog. Cheers!:-)
@Nonoy
You are welcome. You have a great blog and i will practice your suggestion on your post soon.
One shud keep certain point in mind before putting comment.. Nice post/.//
Good points. It’s kind of like the person who tweets something about someone, not knowing that someone is following them. You have to think big picture when you’re on the Internet because things can go viral so easily, and thus destroy your reputation as a blogger, writer, or whatever. Be polite is always a good rule.
@Renee
You got the points, Renee. The reputation is important to blogger or writer like us. We count on it to be successful.
Being polite will always get you places. But it has to authentic to work – I view that blog commenting is like a way to enter into a conversation, and I would never do that in an impolite manner.
You should see some of the comments on my blogs. Just blatant spam with links for viagra. I think I delete 90% of the comments that are posted to my blog
A truly info packed article about commenting. Really, the next time I think about commenting, I will have follow your tips to get the best results. Thanks for this great post.
feeling great to read this ,,,,obviously next time i will think twice before commenting !!!!!!!!
“Give a mannered comment and make good critiques will make you get a respect from other visitors”- straight to the point.
I like your post. Its very helpful for us to keep avoid for those stages which you tell here. Its very useful for us. Thanks for sharing this article.
Blog commenting though not that useful for getting the keyword ranking is used by many even for the traffic. So one should take care of the above mentioned things while commenting on a blog or article

Hey. Being an SEO Executive i found your information quite beneficial and helping. But along with the things you shared i’d like to add in that while commenting on blogs from the seo point of view one should always take care that he/she is commenting on relevant blogs, the comments should be natural for a moderators approval and also the dofollow and nofollow tags should be taken care of.
Great Tips you got there. You really have a lot experience in blog. New bloggers should visit this to know how to not look silly in blogging. Thanks for your tips. I’ll try those tips.
I agree with all the points you have discusses especially on the first one. Do not comment in rush. I do read posts before commenting, however I opened 2 posts of that blog and when I left a comment, I left it on the wrong post. It should have been on the other post. That was embarrassing so I followed up another comment explaining my mistake.
post comment in nice blog thanks for sharing
It is right that we should have to comment attractive and user friendly.
Thanks for sharing such a helpful blog commenting tip.
Yes,you are right.I agree with you
your point are really important but it is difficult to keep in mind while commenting, every time while commenting one has to go through it again and again to remove the silly mistake and leave intelligent comment.
